AceShowbiz - Rose McGowan has called out Hillary Clinton over claims the former First Lady's publicist told journalist Ronan Farrow that his investigation into Harvey Weinstein's alleged history of sexual misconduct was "a concern" for the Clinton camp.
The reporter son of actress Mia Farrow won a Pulitzer Prize for his reporting on the 2017 sexual abuse claims against the movie mogul, which prompted the #MeToo and Time's Up anti-harassment and equal rights movements. And now he's set to go into further detail with the release of his new book, "Catch and Kill: Lies, Spies, and a Conspiracy to Protect Predators".
Ahead of the book's release, reports emerged claiming Hillary and her husband, former U.S. President Bill Clinton, were concerned the investigation would bring unsavoury affiliations to light - with McGowan, who accused the former Miramax boss of raping her at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival, disgusted by the claims.
"I knew that Hillary Clinton's people, were protecting the Monster," she tweeted on Friday, October 11 referring to Weinstein. "I can't believe I used to support her. I guess predators are her style."
The actress clarified her reference to the former POTUS, who has adamantly denied the sexual abuse allegations made against him by four women, in a second tweet, adding: "Hillary Clinton, did you have any concern for your husband's victims? And what about HW victims? No? Didn't think so."
The case against Weinstein will begin in a court in Manhattan, New York in January 2020, where he faces numerous charges, including rape and predatory sexual assault, which carries the prospect of a lengthy prison sentence.
"Catch and Kill: Lies, Spies, and a Conspiracy to Protect Predators" is released October 15.
